We offer piano lessons in a number of schools around the Midlands area. We work from a balanced curriculum, developed through years of experience. Our teaching draws on classical repertoire, popular music and everything in between to allow students to play what they enjoy and grow in areas appropriate to them. Teachers will support students through graded examinations if desired, offering a choice of exam boards to best suit the individual (ABRSM, LCM, Trinity Guildhall, Rockschool etc). All students have opportunities to compose their own music, improvise, develop technical and aural skills, and learn different styles of music.
Piano Lessons for Primary School Students
Lessons for younger students are multi-sensory, incorporating games, movement, floor activities and other instruments to explore musical concepts. Our focus on singing ensures that students’ musicianship skills are developed alongside their pianistic skills. Students solidify their understanding of theory through improvising and composing their own music.
Piano Lessons for Secondary School Students
Lessons for teenagers are designed to facilitate their unique musical aspirations and allow students to ‘design’ their own curriculum in partnership with their teacher. Students can focus on Classical repertoire, learn to play pop songs by ear, or can study a mixture of styles. We have a great deal of experience working with GCSE and A level students, preparing them for their solo and ensemble performances. Our focus on creating music through improvisation and composition also helps students in the composing element of the syllabus.
